AFP and MaxiFlake are used to support bare-rooted stock, seedlings, propagation, and both have numerous farming applications as well.
AFP is great for garden paths, suppressing weeds, and deterring snails.
For composting, AFP is the ideal “brown” component. Use it to add carbon to your mix in order to balance the nitrogen content of the “green” materials. AFP, with it’s absorptive qualities, also works well to wick up water from rain and liquids produced by the green materials that might otherwise go sludgy. All of these qualities will contribute to the composting process.
AFP will work well as a bulking agent for use in composting toilets. It will help control odours and moisture content, and can assist the materials attain the right level of density and heat in order to promote and speed up the composting process.
MaxiFlake is also ideal for use in composting applications. The flakey nature of this product allows for air pockets to form naturally which will help provide greater aeration.
Our sawdust and wood shavings are bagged in woven polypropylene stitched bags and sold by volume, not weight. Bag sizes vary by product, from 60 litre bags for finer grades (single bags or by the pallet) up to 900 litre bulk bags. Commercial and bulk quantities are available year-round.
